Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Q. How do I make a purchase?

A. Once you have found a painting or work of art you would like to purchase, simply click on the 'Add to Cart' button to add it to your basket.

Once you have chosen all the works you would like, select 'Basket' in the top right of the screen where you can edit or remove items you have selected, then click on 'Checkout'. In Checkout, enter  the details required and delivery charges will be automatically calculated - Cart total will update with shipping charges.

When you are ready, select 'Pay Now' to be taken to the payment screen to complete payment and checkout. Then just sit back and wait for your unique work of art to arrive!

Q. How much does delivery cost?

A. Delivery charges are calculated at Checkout. We charge a subsidised flat rate based on the size of the artwork purchased to cover handling, careful packaging and delivery. Rates are £10 for smaller works and £15 for larger pieces – full details can be found under the 'Delivery & Returns' section of the website.

Q. How long will my art work take to arrive?

A. Our terms with our delivery partners specify delivery within 30 days, but in reality the vast majority of customers receive their items within 10 days of placing an order.

Q. I don't have a PayPal account, how do I pay?

A. Don't worry, we use PayPal to process payments for both people with PayPal accounts and people without. You can pay with a card just as easily by selecting 'Pay by Debit or Credit Card' towards the bottom of the PayPal Log In screen.

Q. Can I cancel my order?

A. Yes, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you have 14 days from the date you receive your artwork to cancel your sales contract. Simply complete this 'Cancellation Form' and return it to us before returning your artwork. We can help guide you through this, so please call us if you need any help.

Q. What happens if I don't like the painting when I receive it?

A. Art to Buy is governed by the Consumer Contracts Regulations and all your statutory rights under Distance Sales apply. If you don't like what you have bought you can simply return it within 14 days of receipt for a refund. The cost of returning your item is your responsibility, but feel free to call us as we can usually arrange for our dedicated couriers to collect for you at our discounted rates.

Q. The painting I ordered has been damaged – what happens now?

A. Whilst it is exceptionally rare, items bought from us can occasionally get damaged in transit despite all the efforts we go to with packaging and carefully selecting our delivery partners. If this happens, please don't worry – just call us and we'll do everything we can to promptly resolve any issues. As all the works we carry are unique, we aren't able to replace damaged items like-for-like, but we always work hard to offer a solution that works for you. We usually need photos of any damage, so please don't throw packaging away before talking to us.

Q. I'd really like to physically see what I am buying before I purchase – is that possible?

A. Of course! We are always very happy to welcome any Art to Buy customers to our Gallery where we can display any artwork you chose form our stock for viewing. Feel free to get in touch using our contact form, sending us an email or by calling us to arrange this.

Q. Are these works of art available anywhere else?

A. No – all the works offered by Art to Buy are unique pieces, for sale exclusively by us. You won't find these works for sale by anyone else, so you can guarantee your purchase will be an original piece.

Q. Do you offer sales of artwork to commission?

A. No, not currently. We do have great relationships with the artists whose works we offer though, so if you have something specific in mind from one of the artists we feature, please feel free to get in touch and we will do our best to help turn your vision into a reality.

Q. I'm an artist with paintings for sale – can I sell through you?

A. At present, all the works shown on our website are exclusive to us and not offered on behalf of the artist. However, feel free to get in touch so we can discuss ways we might be able to help offer your work for sale.
